Bad Krozingen

Vicus romaine

Si l’on passe aujourd’hui par Bad Krozingen sur l’ancienne route nationale 3, on ne peut guère s’imaginer qu’autrefois il y avait une agglomération romaine étendue sur cette route entre Bâle et Mayence. Le puits reconstitué et la cave d’une ferme domaniale portent encore aujourd’hui témoignage de cette époque. Entre le 1er et le 3e siècle on trouvait ici des auberges et des exploitations artisanales pour héberger les voyageurs de pays lointains et les commerçants. Dans l’ambiance du musée de la ville, on peut connaître le quotidien et l’artisanat de l’époque romaine comme si on était dans une ferme domaniale. Les autres sections du musée donnent un aperçu de l’âge de pierre, de l’âge des Celtes et du début de l’âge alémanique.
